New Tools When Working with Schools who Host

In order to help volunteers secure school approval for hosted students, we have updated Help & Learning to clarify instructions for sending Placement Acceptance Forms (PAFs) and to share Best Practices for Securing School Approval.  Even if you aren’t new to sending PAFs, you might find a helpful new suggestion or two!   For example, we now have a handy flyer to share with schools after they accept a student helping them learn about the resources and support AFS can provide as well as how the school can prepare to welcome an AFS student.   Check out this new Thank You for Accepting an AFS Student Flyer.

Have you been working with a school or school staff member new to AFS?  If so, please invite them to a spring webinar for schools on Best Practices for Preparing to Host Exchange Students.  These webinars feature a lively sharing of best practices and an opportunity for Q&A related to preparing to host exchange students in the 2023-2024 school year. Any school staff member is welcome to join and learn with AFS-USA.  Interested educators can register here.

Thank you for all you do to build relationships with your local schools to support AFS students now and into the future.  Let us know what we can do to support you!
